Panasonic Personal Cellular Cordless Phones

For Use with

Panasonic pioneered the use of Integrated Wireless PBX Phones in the early 1990's. Since then, they have re-engineered their line to include "Cellular" type technology. Cellular technology allows users roam vast areas without traveling out of range. It also reduces costs by being able to reuse infrastructure. For instance, prior to incorporating cellular technology, every time one added a wireless phone, a transceiver was needed. If you wanted 20 wireless phones, you needed 20 wireless transceivers. With cellular technology, 20 cellular phones would share a much smaller number of transceivers.

Within the cellular product line, there two distinct series:

  1. The 1.9 GHz DECT Series (a.k.a. Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications and formerly known as Digital European Cordless Telephone) and
  2. The 2.4 GHz Standard Series. The 2.4 GHz series is now Manufacturer discontinued.

DECT Series phones have one significant advantage over Standard Series phones - their ability to cohabitate in the same frequency space as most wireless routers, wireless cameras and/or home automation equipment. If you are considering a new system, the obvious choice is DECT. If you have existing 2.4GHz Cellular Cordless phones, DECT will not work without changing out your Cell Stations and your existing 2.4GHz Cell Phones.

The DECT Series consists of the following phones:

  • KX-WT125 - Entry Level
  • KX-WT126 - Entry Level with Vibrate option
  • KX-TD7685 - Standard Size
  • KX-TD7695 - Executive Pocket Size
  • KX-TD7696 - Ruggedized

The 2.4GHz Series is manufacturer discontinued, but available in limited quantities and consists of the following phones:

  • KX-TD7680 - Standard Size - Replaced by KX-TD7684
  • KX-TD7690 - Executive Pocket Size - Replaced by KX-TD7694
